Q.Do I have to be a Resident or have a Resident's Visa to purchase?
A. No. To buy a property you do not have to have a residents visa. This is only required if you intend to stay longer than 3 months, or you wish to buy a car or a phone, then the 3 months tourist visa is not enough.

Q. What do I have to check before purchasing?
A. Check that there are no outstanding rental agreements or mortgages, and the seller has the legal right to sell the property and that they have a (Tapu) Title Deed.

Q. If I sell my property can I take the proceeds back to the UK.
A. Yes. You have the legal right to take the proceeds back to the U.K.

Q. Who inherits our property if one of us dies?
A. According to Turkish Law, the property automatically goes to the next of kin and if a will is in force the property will go to who ever is the beneficiary in the will.

Q. Why should we invest in Turkey?
A.The main reason. Prices, this is now one of the cheapest places to buy yourself a holiday home or permanent home, whichever one you choose this will be one of the best investments you may ever make. The climate is an asset and the Turkish property market is expanding fast.

Q. What's the weather like?
A. The climate is wonderful, the pace is easy, the people are warm and invitingly friendly, the air is clean and healthy and people who retire here tell of there aches and pains disappearing.

Q. How far will our money go?
A. Living here is far cheaper than in Britain, everyday essentials like bread, fruit, vegetables and meat products are half the price and sold in kilos, but best of all natural produce is organic.

Q. What about our bills etc.?
A. Domestic bills are also far cheaper. Electric bills are approx. £10 per month and water bills approx. £7 per month. Gas is bottled and for approx. £13 it will last you 6 months. Your council tax is around £40 per year and refuse tax around £20 per year, no TV Licence is required and no VAT. Just think how far your pension or savings will go!

Q. What about health and if we are sick?
A. Health care when living in Turkey is not a problem.The hospitals have some of the finest surgeons and doctors in the world. You can choose to go private or take out an insurance to cover every aspect of illness.
